High School Notes and Local Events at the Tuesday Meeting
Senior Tha PP and T A met at the high school Tuesday evening at 8. A large crowd enjoyed a varied program led by Miss Gondre’s pupils including a Danish Dance of Greetings. Basketball aspirants gathered for a preliminary workout as interest in the sport grows. Ruthven teams defeated Arnolds Park 47 to 7 boys and 25 to 5 girls. Season tickets for five games were announced at one dollar each.

Boy Bitten by Rabid Dog Near Gilmore City
Sixteen year old Lawrence Abent, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Abent, southwest of Gilmore City, was bitten by a dog acting queerly last week. The dog was killed and its head sent to Iowa City for rabies testing. Iowa City reports confirm rabies, and the boy was sent for Pasteur treatment at once.

Five Hundred Thousand Auto Licenses Ordered for 1921
The secretary of state has ordered 500 000 automobile license plates for 1921. Half have been received. the other half are due by November. Plates will be aluminum with black background. Iowa leads in cars per person with about one auto per 5.5 people, followed by Nebraska South Dakota and Kansas. New York and Pennsylvania rank lower in the list.
