Graettinger Boys Defeat Mallard In Local Basketball Clash

Graettinger high school defeated Mallard by 35 to 25 in a Friday night game at the local gym. Graettinger led 28 to 7 at halftime as Mallard pressed in the second half. Lineups included Jolson, Munsters, Petersen, Erickson, Young for Graettinger and Wiss, Anderson, Namer, Earl, Duffy for Mallard.

Norwegian Lutheran Ladies Aid Bazaar and Lunch

The Ladies Aid society will hold a bazaar and lunch at the Woodmen hall on Saturday, November 24. Many useful articles will be on sale and a delicious lunch will be served. A cordial invitation is extended to the public.

Obituary of Charles Giddings of Palo Alto County

Charles H W. Giddings died last Sunday at Oxyard after a long illness. He was 69, born October 3, 1854 in Adams New York. He moved to Vernon township with his parents in 1869 and later established a store at Blairyowrie Osgood becoming postmaster in 1882. He married Mary J Butler in 1882 and Agnes D Simpson in 1921, leaving two daughters Frances and Wtta May and one brother. He was active in county affairs, an Odd Fellow and Modern Woodmen, a familiar figure to Emmetsburg vendors, and a devoted church supporter. Burial is in Evergreen cemetery. Funeral services at Congregational church and home at 1 and 2 pm respectively. Burial attendance by Odes Petlows Rebeccas Elks and Modern Woodmen.

Wm Luhman will hold a closing out sale November 26 near Gracttinger offering 88 head of stock cattle, Holsteins, machinery, and a complete threshing outfit. His farm is rented to Pronk and his mother plans to move 40 Gracttinger to make a home. Westfall public sale December 4 details to follow.

Confirmation Services Held Sunday in Lutheran Church

Confirmation service conducted at the Lutheran church in Grachtener. A large crowd attended as eleven catechumens repeated their baptismal vows. The list includes Marion Naune, Quentin Jensen, Jahan Tveitnes, Blanchard Jacobsen, Lyle Pierson, Arnold Jacobson, Delmar Allen, Esther Wrickson, Helena Helgeson, Mabel Iverson, and Clara Tveitnes.

Death Angel Takes Little Girl in Lost Island

Mr and Mrs Floyd Smith of Lost Island mourn the death of their baby girl born February 19 1921 who died November 7 after influenza bronchial pneumonia and toxemia poisoning. Rev McDowal conducted services at the Methodist church with interment in Crown Hill cemetery. The child was 19 days old.
