Mallard meet Graettinger at the High School Friday as both teams seek a win in the season opener. Graettinger coach Idler has prepared the squad with grit to overcome inexperience from last year while Mallard rebuilds with new material and a transfer from Ruthven.

Fire damages Taylor Bakery morning blaze under rear roof

Firefighters quickly extinguished a morning blaze at Taylor Bakery caused by heat from a doughnut stove. The building owned by C. A. Jensen sustained light damage to structure and stock. The incident followed a local sale where Otte Pelton won a washing machine. Firent Teachers plan Armistice Day program at High School on Wednesday November 14 with ex service men invited and officers to be elected.

Young Couple Wed At Terril In Early Morning Ceremony

Roy Glover and Mabel Olson were married Wednesday at high noon at the Olson home southwest of Terril in Lost Island township Palo Alto county. Rev. A A Howe officiated in the presence of immediate relatives. The couple, highly regarded in the community, will reside on the Benflixcent Hildreth farm east of town after visiting LaVerne Iowa and shortly after the year begins.

Federation Club Meets At Emmetsburg Monday

The County Federation of Women's Clubs will hold a peace meeting at Emmetsburg High School auditorium on Monday November 12 with a 6 30 p m dinner. Reed and Mahoney Fight Ends With KO in Fourth Round

Reed suffered a broken hand in the third round of a five round bout with Eddie Mahoney at the Fort Dodge Legion show. Mahoney delivered a knockout one minute thirty five seconds into the fourth round after Reed was down on the canvas. Also on the card, Kid Higgins lost a close four round decision to Jack Carney.

Joe Amdahl buys the Reimer and Jensen millinery shop and plans to sell stock and move his meat market into the building. Mrs J P Jensen and Mrs John Reimer had purchased the store from Misdea Kimdson and Bolstead last fall and report a large patronage.

Legion Boys Entertain Ladies Auxiliary Reorganization

The American Legion members hosted wives sisters and mothers for a Ladies Auxiliary reorganization program led by Geo White. Frances Duhigg sang Makita and Arbrie Myhre gave a reading. officers were elected with Clara Gammon as president and Kathryn Foster as treasurer. The gathering ended with Five Hundred games and an oyster supper.
