The Walnut Boosters held a mental meeting called by Toe Thomson at 9 o clock. Attendance showed 3 present with 4 absent. previous venue minutes were approved. An election elected President Mieke Theebdase, Vice President and Secretary Vkchen Sharkey, Treasurer Dave Elsendust, Historian Eff Voigt. A motion to move the meeting date to the second Monday of the month was approved. December meeting set for Christmas at Pisenbuse's with exchange at $1. Demonstration by Sy n Puller on tireing and tracking noted.
An informal Wallingford Halloween party drew attendees from local groups including CALS and Legion. Prizes included costumes and small cash funds, with notable entries by Richualys and Tow Seboemts.
The District II Make It Yourself With Weol contest and fashion show will be held Saturday November 20 1976 at Westmar College Commons LeMars. Sixty five contestants from thirteen north west Iowa counties entered the competition with registration at 9 am and finishing activities at 9 pm. The event features tours by Westmar Admissions, a moveling style show with cosmetic demonstrations and wool crafts including dyeing weaving and spinning. Highlights include a 11 30 am festive foods presentation by Iola Frerichs and Take Off style shows by Glenna Good at 12 00 1 30 and after the 2 00 pm public show. Niemans Sewing Center Spencer displays wool fabrics and a noon buffet costs 2 50 by advance reservation only by November 12. Door prizes follow the style show.
Palette County Resource Coordinating Committee will meet in the Community Room at the lows Public Service Building in Farmersburg at 2 pm. Agenda includes a Phil Hen report from Des Moines and Palo Alto County matters over the past three months and next 21 months, plus a discussion on water problems and Department of Soil Generation aid in data gathering.
The Hillcrest Board met at the Hicrest Golf and Supper Club in Greettinger on Wednesday November 3. Vic Johnson Ringsted submitted a resignation. Edmund Herke approved to Alf Johnsons two year term and Norma Berven appointed to a one year term. Discussion of the Halloween Party highlighted. December 1 meeting to plan the 1977 calendar and submit committee dates for publication. Members present included Pete Hansen Jean Elsenbast Elmer Masters Edmund Herke and Alleen Schacherer.
Damell Pettengill of Graettinger is enrolled in Drake University’s entering freshman class in the Business School. Drake, a private coeducational university, lists its colleges and reports total enrollment of about 6,455 with 1,072 in this year's freshman class. Damell is the son of Mr and Mrs Don Pettengill.
