Fire of incendiary origin devastates the Nichtern farm near town early Friday morning. J H Nichtern loses 11 600 bushels of corn 1 409 bushels of oats a wagon two wagons a corn planter shoring pipe and a feeder cart with total loss estimated at 2 500, insured 600 to 700. Nichtern’s nine year old son discovered the blaze. kerosene used to torch the structure amid a gusty breeze. No arrests yet. neighbors suspect a fire bug in the area as other barns have burned under similar circumstances. Community notices invite a chicken supper and election guidance for voters.

Desperados Kidnap Fairmont Man After Robbery Near Wallingford

Peterson Barn at Wallingford Burns to Ground
The Petersen barn at Wallingford in the east part of town was destroyed by fire about four o'clock Sunday morning. Mil Hanson occupied the place, and Oliver Ressell first sighted the blaze. Neighbors arrived quickly and freed the live stock, but the flames overwhelmed the small barn, with hay also burned. Loss estimate not learned. Mr Peterson is a familiar local farmer and well driller.

Last Friday Mrs J D Collins Mrs Thompson Mrs L P C Larsen and Mrs S K Simonsen visited the Wiegmann home to aid Mrs Wie nann in celebrating her sixtieth birthday.
