Wallingford Post Office Robbed For 139 Dollars In Cash And Checks
Burglars gained entry to the Wallingford post office in Otis Jorstad’s hardware store by a back door. They opened the safe, took cash and checks totaling about 139 dollars, leaving treasury certificates worth around 400 dollars untouched. A nearby resident heard a car and suspected the burglars were asleep. The post office has been under Mrs. Crim’s supervision since Lloyd Crim’s departure. Some believe this gang may be the same as the Estherville post office raiders.
