Pioneer woman Christiansen dies after illness in Lost Island
Mrs. Otto Christiansen, a pioneer woman of Palo Alto county, died Friday at her Lost Island township home after an eleven day pneumonia illness. Born August 7, 1848 in Denmark, she married Otto Christiansen on May 21, 1867 and came to America in 1874. Survived by sons Peter and Nels and daughter Mrs. Fred Masters, she was laid to rest beside her husband at the Danish Lutheran church cemetery after services at the Lost Island home and South Walnut church.
