M Raepe proprietor of the Gruettinger Bakery has leased the Harvey Petersen building, formerly Burkhead Clothing, and plans remodeling to accommodate a new line of business. Also notes a marriage in Minot, North Dakota between Thomas Galleger and Mina Clara Knutson with future plans to reside in Kenmare. The couple will honeymoon to Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Cedar Rapids and Emmetsburg after a Nash sedan purchase.

Two Deaths In The Past Week In Granchinger
Two local deaths report Sunday through Friday as long time residents E. Bradley and James Harris pass away. Bradley, born in Galesburg Iowa, died after a battle with autrenia and brain clot complications. Harris died suddenly after months of illness. Funeral services held for Bradley included Catholic rites and a sunrise procession. Harris’s funeral occurred Monday at the M H church with interment east of town.

Elbert Harrington Wins Five State Original Contests
Elbert Harrington, a student at Ange Cedar Malls College, won first place in an original invention contest at his college and later topped a similar contest at McCombs UL. The McCombs field included entrants from five states. Harrington, son of Mr and Mrs Charles Harrington, and brother of the local high school coach, is a Grachtinger High School graduate. Citizens of Grachtinger extend hearty congrats on his wide field victory.

How to Change Party Affiliation in County Primary
Numerous voters seek to switch party affiliation using a blank form filed with the county auditor before June 7. An alternative is to declare as Republican or Democrat at the primary and take the oath as required by 1924 law. Both methods require attorney general approval.

Harris Rites Mark Life of Emmetsburg Resident James Harris
James Harris of Emmetsburg died after a long illness at 56. Born March 1870 in Walnut Illinois, he moved to Barnum Iowa at fourteen and later settled in Emmetsburg. He married Rostella Fox in 1895 and raised ten children, with five surviving. Surviving relatives include his wife, children, two grandchildren, and four brothers. The Times extends sympathy to the family.
