Graduation exercises will be held Friday evening May 28 in the Hawkeye theater. Fifteen diplomas will be issued if nothing unforeseen occurs. Address by Prof. Chandler of Cornell College, who studied in France with the American Red Cross. Naval graduation program is in preparation. Public invited. Funeral of Martin Knudtsen in South Walnut
Large attendance at the funeral of Martin Knudtsen held Saturday afternoon with services at the house and Danish Lutheran church in South Walnut township. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. pallbearers named. Knudtsen, born March 11, 1888 in Budrup Sogn Denmark, died after illness May 10, and is survived by his father, siblings, and extended family. Community mourns a well known, generous man and loyal friend.

MRS. Bannon Died Friday at Home Near Graettinger
Obituary notices detail the death of Bridget Dunigan Bannon at her Graettinger area home after a lengthy illness. Born April 1, 1864 in Holy Cross near Dubuque, she married Patrick Bannon in 1893 and left four sons Raymond, Joseph, Leo and Frank. Surviving relatives include her husband, four sons, two brothers, four sisters, and aged parents previously buried in Holy Cross. Funeral services were held at Holy Cross and burial followed in the family plot.
