Remains laid to rest Friday in Graettinger
The death of H. N. Osher, a Graettinger pioneer merchant, occurred Tuesday May 3 after a brief illness from heart failure related to diabetes. A large funeral, with services at his residence and the Lutheran church, followed by burial east of Wallingford, reflected the high esteem in which he was held. He left a wife Sophie Jensen Osher and five surviving children plus extended family, and his generous, community minded life was celebrated by many in northwest Iowa.
