Litter of eight spotted Poland China pigs and lambs noted
A March 6 farrow of eight spotted Poland China pigs is described along with two crossbred market lambs on the same blank. A request asks club members who recognizes the description to share names. Public Hearings Planned on Graettinger Zoning Plan
The Zoning Commission of Graettinger Iowa will hold public hearings at the Town Hall on May 7 and May 14 1951 at 736 PM and 730 PM to consider a proposed Zoning Ordinance and Zone Plan Map. The map and preliminary report are on file with the Town Clerk for inspection and suggestions. The chair is Quinten H Jensen. Also announced is the birth of Cindy Kay Nelson of Waterloo and that Mrs Rose Yezek of Manly is a great grandmother for the 650th time.

Lost in fog on Mississippi River near Kingston
Frank Hutchcroft of Kingston became lost in fog on the Mississippi River and spent a night on the Illinois side. His relatives searched about 18 hours before he returned home the next day after boat and family members mounted a rescue effort.
