Charles Thompson of Allison registered his 58th new car of that make at the courthouse, having bought his first in 1905 and averaging a new one every ten months for 46 years. Three Boyden girls spotted a broken rail top on a freight line and alerted authorities as Milwaukee trains moved slowly for repairs. Gladys Vande Garde Elaine Vande Garde and Harriet Landhuis received thanks and a $25 check from the railroad.
