Car crashes into bridge near Graettinger on icy day
At 5:00 a.m. on Saturday March 15 Tim Graettinger of Graettinger drove into the southeast end of the bridge east of Graettinger after hitting ice. He escaped injury, but front end damage was extensive and bridge damage about 600 dollars, with Tim's car totaled per County Supervisor Russel Peterson. No other passengers were present.

Car accident traps Graettinger man under car
On Friday evening March 17 Daniel Pegum and his uncle Herb Besaw working under a car had it up on a jack and blocks. the jacks slipped pinning Dariel beneath. Herb freed Dariel with help from Barbara Besaw and Julia Besan. Dariel walked to Emmetsburg for treatment. injuries included a dislocated shoulder and rib soreness. Herb was uninjured.
