Demolition of Graettinger landmarks reshapes Main Street
Longstanding Graettinger structures built over half a century ago are being torn down. The corner general store of 1918, Green Electric Shop, West pool hall, and Dairy Sweet are gone after ownership by Sam Watson. The Graettinger Hawk Eye Theatre became Watson Theatre in 1945, closed in 1972, and now demolition by Lyndegaard Excavation Co. precedes plans for a new Graettinger State Bank building.
