Will Texas Pipe Line Furnish Natural Gas Here

A long planned Missouri Kansas Pipeline from Amarillo to Minneapolis may pass near Graettinger Emmetsburg and Spencer with gas supply to northwest Iowa towns. The line would be 34 inches, cost about 38 million dollars with 9 branches and 200 mile compressor stations, delivering gas to cities along its route including Emmetsburg and Estherville.

Henry Busherfald, 40, of Whittemore, died following a night road incident. His machine stalled, he left it in gear, the car rolled and pinned him beneath the front axle. He was dragged briefly, rescued next morning, treated for exposure, and died days later.

Schuberts In Auto Accident Near Estherville

John Schubert, driver of a Chevrolet coach, collided with a truck at Estherville last week. The truck tipped over. repairs will be needed to return it to service. Schubert sustained a severe cut on his right hand. The crash occurred at noon with both vehicles at a fair speed. Schubert recently moved to Litherville at month’s start after leaving a farm south of Graetlinger.

Six Poisoned At Gilmore City In Arsenate Incident

Six members of the Love family at Gilmore City fell ill after arsenate of lead was used in baking. The poison was kept in a baking powder can and a spoonful went into biscuits. Victims include Mr and Mrs J H Love, their son Ellis, a married daughter Mrs Edna Stegge, and two of their sons. Poison acted about three hours after dinner. physicians gave antidotes promptly.

At the meeting of the new school board Monday evening D E Mc Carty was the unanimous choice for president. W H Noble was the retiring president and was not a candidate in the recent election. His successor on the board is H E Fink. Mr McCarty is described as a capable and experienced business man who will prove an efficient officer.

Scarlet Fever Death in Terril Mother Dies from Fever

Mrs. Chris Schroeder of Terril died last week from scarlet fever. Her daughter Sarah contracted the illness while visiting Minneapolis where she was diagnosed with quinsy. Sarah recovered after returning home, but the mother fell seriously ill and died before the scarlet fever diagnosis was known.
