Funeral in South Walnut for Andres Jacobsen aged 80
Andres Jacobsen died after five weeks of illness on a Monday morning at eleven. Funeral services were held Friday at his residence and the South Walnut church conducted by Rev. Hansen. Interment was in South Walnut cemetery. Pallbearers were Fred Simonsen, J. L. Paulsen, JL. C. Larsen, Peter F. Petersen, C. H. Berdin and P. S. Knutson. Born February 24, 1841 in Denmark, he immigrated to the United States in 1881, farmed near Graettinger, and later lived with his son James. He was a blacksmith by trade and a respected pioneer of the community.

Jens Fries, longtime Emmetsburg resident and proprietor bearing his name, died following an operation. Funeral services were held last week. The Times editor recalls Fries as a big hearted, wholesome man and expresses sincere condolences.

Wallingford Sale Draws Large Crowd and Strong Bids

Horses Stranded After Night Ride Near Osher Store

Brother of Libby man dies after long mining career
Mr. Branagan of Libby Montana and brother of W S Branagan of the Emmetsburg Democrat is dead. He died at his home in the west after more than thirty years in mining. He was financially tied to a gold mine about forty miles from Libby. Northwest Iowa friends extend sympathy to Mr Branagan in his sorrow.
