Dr. Molison served as first lieutenant then captain in the medical corps during World War I. He earned a lieutenant colonel rank in 1924 with the seventh medical corps area in Omaha. He belonged to Masonic, Knights of Pythias, Odd Fellows, Marshall County Medical Society, and American Legion. Survived by Mrs. Molison and daughter Roberta. brother John Molison of Spencer. sister Mrs. A W Brigga of Pasadena. Marshe ll Town Times Republican reports.
O C Olson a Wallingford resident for over fifty years died suddenly at his home at 12 30 Friday afternoon due to heart failure. Born March 8 1867 in Gal Hedlingdal Norway he came at thirteen and settled in Wallingford. He farmed locally, later ran the Crim Oil Station, and leaves a wife five children and four sisters. Funeral was held at the church east of Wallingford.
A Woodman Hall meeting of Farmora & Merchants State bank depositors elected G. M. Gracttinger chairman and J. J. Sullivan secretary to discuss reorganization. Depostiors signed waivers for 60 percent of deposits. 40 percent to be issued as certificates for 18, 24, and 36 months. A three member committee was named to inspect bank condition and report future steps.
A Wisconsin-born veteran of the Civil War known as Little Corporal Kane is remembered for his bravery at Vicksburg and his leadership in Sherman’s march to the sea. He carried Wisconsin colors under fire and earned the rank of sergeant then second lieutenant before returning to Wisconsin and settling in Emmetaburg. He died after a long life as a devoted husband and father with five sons and five daughters.
Graettinger resident Roy Christiansen and Pricilla Largent of Peoria united in marriage at the bride’s brother Paul Largent’s home in Peoria on Friday February 26 at noon. They will reside on a Eureka farm. The Times praises the groom’s character and extends congratulations to the couple.
A series of special meetings will begin at the Methodist Church on Monday evening March 9 at 7 30 and will run each night for two weeks The Rev M L Carver of Armstrong will assist the pastor He is a fine speaker and will share a hopeful spiritual message for Texas Iowa believers to seek consolation through religion Plan to attend all meetings.
Thursday evening the fire alarm sent firefighters to the Flannery residence by the river. The chimney burned out causing a rather spectacular blaze but no damage occurred to the home or its occupants the Derrickson family.
The annual school election will be held next Monday afternoon at Woodman Hall in Grant linger. Voters will elect two directors for a three year term to succeed Mrs. B S George and Mrs. Vincent Kelly and a treasurer for a two year term to succeed Dr M J Raldy.

He served valiantly at Vicksburg and Gettysburg, with G A R comrades recalling his cheerful, capable service and his long honorable life as a soldier and citizen. Residents express heartfelt sympathy to his relatives.
Louis Christian, who lived a short distance north of Fairville, died unexpectedly at his home last Thursday morning February 18. He had heart trouble for some time and the illness was the apparent cause. Once a farmer, he had reduced his farming due to health. He was known as honest and highly regarded by all who knew him. His wife Mrs Christian and family face a double burden with the loss.
Graettinger High School starts the Spirit Lake sectional tournament Friday afternoon with three games daily through Saturday. Grastfinger meets Okoboji Friday in the third afternoon game, potential wins set up matchups with Fenton Ottosen Halfa Lake Park and other rivals as Graettinger hopes to advance to the finals. The hometown X fans back the team as they seek first place in Class B.
Graettinger won the Ruthven tournament by defeating Ruthven 47 to 26 in the finals after earlier wins over Halfa 42 to 21 and Estherville 38 to 21. Ruthven beat Cylinder 33 to 18 Saturday afternoon. Graettinger earns a second round state bid. Players included Reuben Johnson Witmer Petersen Norman Thoreson Carl Elsanbast Homer Young and Harold Harrington.
Otto Appel holds an auction at his Graettinger barn on Saturday afternoon March 6 offering six head of TB tested cows, twenty head of feeding shantes at 120 pounds, eight work horses on a trial guarantee, plus chickens. Display ad in this week’s Times promotes the milk cows opportunity.
The big annual Market Sale at Wallingford will be held Saturday March 20. Bills will be out the first of the week for this event. Market Day draws large crowds and a vast amount of property is sold. The Ladies Aid society is expected to serve dinner as usual.
The Calgary Stampede will headline the Hawkeye theatre Saturday evening with hoot Gibson performing in The Calgary Stampede, followed by the comedy Dont Worry. A good show and hearty laughter are promised for Saturday night. Ed Peterson Auction set for March 8 near Graettinger features farm tools, 39 head of cattle, 14 hogs, horses, and household goods with a free lunch at 11:90. Dorothy Myhre of Graettinger High School won first in the dramatic class in the first round of the state contest at Cylinder, with Marjorie Johnson taking second in the humorous elang. Victor Henningsen placed third in the oratorioal class. The Cylinder win advances Myhre to the next state round, while both Myhre and Johnson will represent Graettinger at the county meet in Emmetburg next Monday evening.
A large barn at the feed shed caught fire Monday afternoon with flames bursting through the roof. The blaze, aided by wind, was contained due to quick action since the building lay within the water district. The fire threatened Communicating sheds, Community Service Station, Gammon Lumber yard, and nearby homes. It was believed to start from wind sparks. The property is owned by E. P. Duhn.
Mr and Mrs L D Hurd formerly of the locality now reside in Minnesota and lost their home by fire the same day as the Spies residence in Gradlinger. The Hurds face further financial hardship during a period of rebuilding and new beginnings. Neighbors express sympathy for their loss.
Graettinger High School basketball defeated Terril 26 to 22 on Terril floor Friday evening. Perri led early as the season finale for Coach Harrington's squad ended in a close, exciting contest before the team travels to Spirit Lake for sections tournament.
New proprietor John McBride of Brewster Minnesota takes over Buckley and Miller pool hall with assistance from Martin Leatice of Brewster. The former owners Miller and Buckley enjoyed good business and the new owner is expected to attract strong patronage.
Lyle Burkhead closes clothing business in Graettinger with a storewide sale running through March 17. All stock and fixtures are for sale. Stock placed with Hosburgs Cannon Sales Co of Lincoln Nebraska and Mr Baker of the firm is in charge of the sale.
The ratified electors of the Town of Gracttinger will hold a meeting at the Hawkeye on Tuesday evening March 14 1026 at eight oclock p m to nominate candidates for offices to be filled at the forthcoming election.
