A feature story promoting the Methodist Camp at West Lake Okoboji highlights a summer schedule from early August with sermons by visiting bishops and Dr Eliott, a Girls and Boys program, daily Bible hours, swimming and boating, and prize events. Rentals managed by A J Matthews of Spirit Lake with numerous cottages already booked, signaling a record turnout.
Editor Times reports a trip from Graettinger to Lorraine Kansas to work in harvest fields. The party drove 600 miles in a Ford over three days using 28 gallons of gasoline and 2.5 gallons of motor oil. Wheat is green but ready to cut mid week with wages around four dollars a day plus hoard.
The Street Sprinkling Fund lists many local businessmen who donated one dollar each to pay for a street watering hose. The new hose aids dust control on business streets and may be connected to city hydrants when needed. Big Celebrations At Hand's Park advertises events on July 2 and 4 with games, wrestling, a concert, and a dance.
John Reidy and Alfred Jensen defeated Mekkelson and Shaver 4-6 4-6, then Osher and E A Jensen fell to them 2-6 3-6. Jertson Turner faced Jernson and Reidy in the final, with a 0-6 first set and a 6-4 second set, in a hard fought contest before a large crowd.
Robert Knight of Watherville and Irma Farquhar of Winterset were united in marriage on Wednesday. Knight worked at Farmers & Merchants State Bank, while Farquhar was a High School faculty member. The Times offers hearty congratulations to the couple.

Last week Brekke purchased a residence at Haiibault Minnesota and will move there September first. His son, injured in the Rothermel car incident, will attend school in Haiibault and the family seeks to establish a home there. They are valued residents and will be missed.

Danish Lutheran Church notes that Sunday forenoon services include Sunday School communion and regular Danish language services at South Walnut church with an English evening meeting. A Fourth of July parade at the parsonage invites all, followed by supper served by the Ladies' Aid, signed Rev H P K Hunsen, Pastor.
Norwegian language service next Sunday at 10 20 in Graettinger and 4 o'clock in Lost Island in English. Confirmation class in Groettinger Friday forenoon at 9 o clock led by Rev. 81 Sandu, pastor.
The Ty Lutheran Zion congregation holds a Sunday service on July 2 at 2:00 p.m. in English at the Methodist church led by Rev. J. B. Ailrone, pastor.
Monday night at the Woodmen camp twelve community men joined the order in Emmetsburg with about twenty Woodmen from Emmetsburg and Carlow attending. A K of C class at Emmetsburg Sunday saw forty to fifty candidates initiated with a banquet and program at the Armory. Homecoming day at Astherville was a big success drawing crowds for the full program. Corn appears promising but could be slight if weather harms the crop. oats are light. Baseball team efforts underway with financial backing sought. practice begun and Graettinger expected to field a strong team.
Mr James Anderson and Miss Mable Hester of this locality joined in marriage at the Catholic church in the city yesterday morning at 8 30 Father K Kelly officiating. Bride’s brother Stephen Hester and sister Lyda Hester attended. The wedding party retired to the Hester home for a wedding breakfast. The couple will settle on the groom’s farm. The bride, daughter of John and Mrs Hester, is a Mercy hospital nurse. The groom is a South Walnut farmer with many friends. The Times extends greetings and best wishes.
No gold returns have been received from Denver as of press time. An assayer's report on recovery mail is awaited. Mr. Smith will not operate his machine until the report arrives. Once good news arrives, the community plans to celebrate the fourth in grand style.
