Car Hits Horse and Auto Fire Destroys Oldsmobile
Early Wednesday about 4 a m Basil McEvoy’s Oldsmobile Eight bumped a stray horse near Erhmersburg. The car radiator bent after impact and soon caught fire, burning nearly everything. McEvoy walked to the Motor Inn to arrange towing, returning to find the car a total loss. Nearby, five miles west of Graettinger near Jacob Frick farm Joe Kathman and Roy Hood collided after a rear wheel separated from the Hood car. Both vehicles suffered heavy damage, Mrs Kathman injured lightly, and the Rathman car remained roadside for a day due to severe front-end damage.

Mr Wikert was taken to Estherville hospital for appendicitis surgery and neighbors cared for his crop. The Wikerts thank generous friends. Paulsen Wins Game From Fairmont Graettinger, with Paulsen and Reeves, defeated Fairmont 4 to 2 at Arnolds Park. Paulsen pitched well, fanning many. Reeves had three hits. Carl Wiegmann's brother Carl, 53, was killed in Germany after being struck by an automobile. Carl died during the war as a German army officer. Wiegmann has the sympathy of Graettinger friends.

Daniel Snyder Died Wednesday Morning at 86
Daniel Snyder died at the home of Mr and Mrs Stemburger Wednesday morning at age 86 from heart failure. He had complained of heart pain earlier but felt well in the afternoon. Life was extinct when household members attempted to rouse him. Dr Hesslon attended. He recently moved from Marshall to reside with the Stemburgers. Funeral plans not finalized. Miss Kathryn Mahana is traveling to Estherville today.
