Bankers' Convention Attended by Local Pair at Dubuque
Mr and Mrs Vincent Kelly accompanied by Mr and Mrs John A Nelson of Wallingford drove to Dubuque to attend a state bankers convention. They described a large successful gathering with fine speakers and a musical program. On return they traversed flood devastated areas near Dyersville, driving through a quarter mile of water and observing a passenger engine hanging on a washed out bridge near the Illinois Central railroad. Roads in eastern Town were fairly good despite the storms.

Death of Magnus Romedehl At Ormsby Alaska
Magnus Romedehl died at Ormsby Minnesota a couple weeks ago. His nephew Mrs Ed Anderson and Ennice Worland and Joe Omundson of Wallingford attended the funeral. He was about 65 to 70 years old and lived here about twenty years ago owning the farm now owned by Louis Thoreson. Many old friends regret his passing.

Lars L Bakka, longtime Graettinger figure and Roland resident, dies at his home in Roland Iowa after a period of illness. Born April 29 1864 in Sande Norway he immigrated to America as an infant and built a life in farming business and local commerce. He leaves wife Hannah Malinde Sanding three children Henry Laura and Gordon plus a grandchild and several siblings and extended relatives. Funeral services were held at Bergen church with Rev M O Sumatud officiating and burial at Roland cemetery.
