Mildred Hendricksen Weds Soldier in Estherville Parsonage
Mildred Kathryn Hendrickson daughter of Mrs T J Hendrickson married Glavence R Jenkins at the M B parsonage in Estherville on a Wednesday in June. They will move to Cheyenne Wyoming where he will be discharged from the army next March. The bride, a popular Guadtinger girl, has many friends and good prospects with her soldier husband. Times extends congratulations. Estherville auctioneer Wm Foshby rejected an offer of 160 per acre for his quarter northeast of Estherville.

Fought Hard On Many Fronts By Gracttin Ger Charley Christiansen
Charley Christiansen of Gracttin Ger says his regiment the Second Illinois Infantry became the 132nd during Federal service. He details its 1918 to 1919 France tour aboard the Me Vernon, training with British units near Hamel and Vaire Woods, and a July 4 attack alongside Australian troops. The regiment fought near Hamel, Waire and Pear trenches, with tanks supporting by four a.m. and 7 a.m. advances, reaching the final objective before 7 a.m.

Heavy Rain Floods City After Torrential Afternoon
A heavy rainstorm swept over the city yesterday afternoon with over three inches of rainfall in two hours. The downpour started from the east, intensified as clouds gathered from the southwest, then returned to the east for a final shower. Hail accompanied the storm but caused no damage.
