Funeral on Sunday for Law Alcorn in Graettinger
Funeral services for Law Irwin Alcorn were held at the Methodist church in Graettinger on Sunday afternoon with large attendance. The accident occurred May 10 when a wagon toppled as he read a paper, causing a broken neck and jaw. He leaves a widow Adaline Truesdell, son Claude H., parents, brothers, and a sister. he had served as Scout Master for the Woodmen lodge and the Boy Scouts and had worked for Gammon Lumber Yard. The procession stretched over a mile to East Cemetery where he was laid beside his wife and child. The community remembers him as genial and beloved, with deep sympathy for his family.

New Tabernacle Erection Bid for Spirit Lake Camp Grounds
The bid opening for the Methodist Camp grounds at Spirit Lake plans a new tabernacle to seat 600 to 2000, covering 680 by 112 feet. The hall will host a four day meeting from the 1st to the 2nd, atop the hill near the old flag pole. A twenty year water franchise for the grounds was granted to A T Sayer of Sioux Rapids. Bishop Oldham of New York City is among the speakers secured for the camp meeting, staying five days.
