The Norwegian Lutheran Church of America marks its centenary with services at the Minneapolis Municipal Auditorium on June 11 18. A Sunday observance features Dr. Gullixson and Rev Bonnevie Svendsen with music by the Twin City Lutheran Choral Union. a memorial service follows honoring those who served and sacrificed in World War II.

Palmer E B Frettem has resigned as manager of the Estherville Cooperative Creamery Co with the resignation effective July 1. He has led the Estherville creamery since December 1934 and plans retirement after a long career including prior posts at Graettinger and Emmetsburg.

Sister Of Ben F Reeves’ Sister Passes Away
Mrs T A Scott aged 77 died Friday morning at Huntington Park California after a long illness. She was formerly married in Guthrie county and lived in Denver before moving to California. She is survived by four children two sons in Denver and two daughters in California, plus three brothers and three sisters. The family extends sympathy to all relatives.

Centennial Observed At Lost Island June Farm Bureau Meeting
The Lost Island June Farm Bureau held a centennial program Monday evening June 10. Old time music by Christainson Bowles and Simonson opened the event. Activities included readings from Ruthven Free Press files, past family sketches, a quiz on Iowa women, and early reminiscences by 70 year old costumed speaker Charles Lande. Retired farmers Peter Hermanson Charles Christianson and Oscar Suss led the program committee as attendees enjoyed the event.

Sixteen Counties To Hold District Holstein Show
The sixteen northwest Iowa counties forming the Ninth Holstein District will hold their annual show on Wednesday June 26 at the Spencer Fair Grounds Spencer Iowa. The event features a judging contest for all with a 4 H team contest and a gate prize of a purebred Holstein heifer from C B Jensen herd at Sutherland. The Graettinger Municipal Light plant annual statement appears in this week's Times. It shows a steady rise in gross revenue with more electrical appliances and new homes driving growth. For the year ending March 31 the gross income was 23525, up from 20624. surplus after depreciation and interest rose to 2415 from 1090. Plant valuation stands at 92499 after nearly 18000 depreciation. bonds outstanding reduced to 77000. Trustees are Andersen, Weinholzer, and Shaver. Rasmussen is superintendent. Westfall and Johnson operators. McWilliams relief operator. Nane bookkeeper. The Times congratulates Trustees and staff.

SITED LIGHT PLANTS VISIT NEAR NW IOWA

Pocahontas operates a large plant supplying REA juice. They returned home impressed with Graettinger plant which may not be the largest in northwest Iowa but is a credit to the community.
