Improvement Program Progresses At Clay County Fair Grounds
The Clay County Fair at Spencer plans a Sept 27 start, a week earlier than prior years, to reduce rain risk. Secretary Kape cites better weather. Albert Rogers, fairgrounds superintendent, notes a decade of work by eight staffers since August to ready the 1846 exposition with grounds and buildings improvements.

Clay County Fairgrounds Undergo Brightening Up for 1946
Improvements on the fairgrounds include extensive painting of buildings and fences, repaired infield fences, a top condition half mile dirt track, and ready aesthetics for a new grandstand coat. Electric upgrades feature 4500 bulbs, 200 street lights, new spotlight, and brighter grounds aimed at a bigger, better, brighter fair. The parking fields receive alfalfa and flax groundwork to improve parking quality in any weather. Plan to attend the Clay County Fair in Spencer Iowa September 27 1946.
