John Hickey Farm Ravaged by Tuesday Twister Near Graettinger
A Tuesday evening tornado devastated the John Hickey farm two miles north of Medium Lake, injuring Mrs. Hickey with broken shoulder blade, fractured jaw, breastbone and leg wounds. Mr. Hickey escaped with minor cuts as the house and outbuildings were wrecked. Kath leen, a visitor, survived beneath fallen furniture. she had recently graduated from Emmetsburg High School. The storm also damaged the Millen barn near Emmetsburg and moved a EB 8 George outbuilding onto a road, amid heavy rain in the region.

Mrs. J. M. Resh Dies After Gallstone Surgery
Mrs. J. M. Resh died at Coleman hospital at 1 30 am after gall stone surgery two weeks prior and a subsequent carbemic poisoning. Funeral at 1 pm Sunday at her residence and 1 30 pm at the M E church. Memorial Day events in Graettinger honored the unknown dead with Legion involvement and a keynote by Willis Cornwall of Spencer.

Mary's Millions Play at Hawkeye Theatre Tuesday

Dodge Woman Killed West of Graettinger in Auto Crash
A young French named Mrs Judd Jacobsen was instantly killed and a sixteen year old girl injured when the automobile they were driving tumbled about four miles south of Terris. All the parties were from Fort Dodge. They had been at Lost Island and planned to go to Arnolds Park.

Baccalaureate Services for Class of 1925 Held at Hawkeye
Baccalaureate services for the class of 1925 were held Sunday evening at the Hawkeye theatre with a full house. Rev. S. O. Sande, pastor of the Lutheran church in Fenton, delivered the sermon. Sande, formerly Graettinger’s pastor for fifteen years, was praised for his scholarship and thoughtful address, widely respected by Graettinger residents.
