Iowan climber treks Sawtooth peak in Idaho wilderness

A family expedition led by Glenn Mills of Marshall County Iowa travels by foot from Lake Camp to Black Quartz and on toward a nameless lake in the Sawtooth National Forest. Norman Johnson joins the climb as they tackle rugged terrain, no trails, and heavy packs in two weeks of wilderness camping.

Graettinger Plant Seeks Franchise For Electric Line

The Iowa State Commerce Commission announces Graettinger Municipal Light Plant seeks a franchise to erect and operate an 69 000 volt three phase electric transmission line across Palo Alto County private lands and highways. Hearing set for February 19 1963 at 10 pm in Des Moines with objections due five days before. Docket E 13607 and related notices name Bernard J. Martin C Ray H. Thompson and Waldo F. Wheeler as commissioners. Attested by Secretary Claude E. Davis.
