Sub Zero Weather Hits Region With Deep Cold
A cold wave swept the region Sunday evening and Monday morning with temperatures from sixteen to twenty below zero. Tuesday morning the mercury fell to twenty five below. Saturday was mild, snow melting, while Sunday brought fog and a high wind that grew into a terrific gale. Heating homes proved difficult Sunday night and Monday.

Axel Peterson Injured By Corn Sheller Near Racelager
Axel Peterson, about thirty and living ten miles east as a racelager, suffered severe injuries while operating a corn sheller at the Uig Sam Watson place. A pulley wheel spoke tore through his neck and ear as his coat wound around the wheel, dragging him into the machinery. He was rushed to Coleman hospital after medical staff arrived, with doctors noting the ear may be lost and recovery possible if complications do not arise.
