Feed Grain changes boost 1964 program payments
The 1964 feed grain program raises the set aside to 50 percent of base and increases payments for idle land. A farm with 100 acres corn base and 75 bushel yield could see about 1900 dollars for 39 acres diverted, or 2500 dollars for 41 acres, with higher per acre averages. Yields will use a 1959–62 four year average. The national corn support remains 1.25 dollars, split as 1.10 loan rate and 0.15 payment. Extension offices will provide worksheets. A separate fire destroyed the Britcher home near Clarence, leaving 11 family members with only the clothes they wore.
