J. W. Oakes Dies After Long Illness at 62
J W Oakes of Jack Creek township Emmet County Iowa died suddenly Sunday evening at eight after heart troubles. He was born March 22 1867 in Indiana and married Wda Kent March 6 1891 at Pocahontas. He served as director of Farmers Savings Bank Ringsted and secretary of Jack Creek school board for twenty years. Funeral Wednesday at home conducted by Rev Gladstone with Ringsted male quartet. burial in High Lake Cemetery. Survived by wife and two children Joe Jr and Mrs A J Davin.

School To Close Friday For Two Weeks
