Spirit Lake brings eight players to Graettinger for a Friday game aiming to avenge last year's county loss to Graettinger. Captain Osher reports the squad in top condition for a closely contested match, with Graettinger seeking two wins in their series.
Funeral services were held Sunday at two o’clock for Mrs. J W Kizer at the M J church in Graettinger officiated by Rev. A E Cunningham. Her remains went to Rolfe for burial following earlier notices of her death. She leaves a husband a daughter a mother and a brother with many relatives mourning her loss. Her active church lodge and community involvement were highlighted and sympathy extended to the family. The Times notes a Farm Bureau membership drive yielding 1 160 new members across townships with Walnut reporting over 80 new members and about 125 expected in total.
Mr and Mrs BD G Rucker plan to move to Hebron Indiana around January first. Rucker recently bought 118 acres nearby for 16000 and noted farm values near Chicago Valparaiso as markets attract higher prices. He reported a successful sale of cows horses and cattle at his local farm with strong prices and satisfactory overall results.
Edward Ellington of Ottosen and Beulah Sandvik of Lost Island township were married at the bride’s parents’ home on December 17. Rev. O. Sande officiated as guests and relatives attended. The couple will reside on a Keister Minnesota farm after a brief wedding visit.
Paul Peton and Sophie Trondhus wed at the bride’s parents home on December 10 with Rev S C Sunde officiating. Albert Peton as best man and Judith Manson as bridesmaid. They left for Estherville for a honeymoon and will reside on the groom’s brother Frank Peton’s farm west of Gruettinger.
Danish language services on Sunday December 21 at 10:80 with Danish Lutheran church at Grachtinger 2 pm. December 26 Christmas tree and program at South Walnut Church 10 am. Monday December 22 yearly business meeting at 1 pm. Rev Hansen pastor.

Roy Masters posts a notice offering rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those who broke into his garage on Saturday evening and stole a tire and rim. He also notes ongoing mail box vandalism and a separate $500 reward for information about a stolen parcel post package dated December 17. Swift was in Esther ville Tuesday.
