Graettinger high school basketball lost both ends of a Tuesday double header at Armstrong. Girls 41 to 19, boys 14 to 12. Armstrong led 10-6 at half, 12-10 after three. Friday Ayrshire visit Graettinger for another double header at 8 p.m. Admission 10 and 25 cents. Gym remodel adds seating. arrive early. Next week Superior Township teams visit for another basketball night.

Iowa Theatre Promises Week of Comedy and Drama

By 11 o clock today 41 loans were recorded at Emmetsburg totaling 62 251 bushels and 28 012.95 dollars, with 4 percent interest for cash in hand while standard loans run 6 to 8 percent. The situation remains unsettled as authorities decide on cash access and shipment receipts, with similar loans reported in Odebolt Pocahontas Ringsted and Ringstead banks varying in handling.

Misses Sadie and Janet Brown were injured in an auto accident at Emmetsburg Thursday evening. Sadie suffered a broken arm and multiple ribs while Janet wrenched her back. Death calls Ed Urry family to Illinois

Ed Urry and Frank Fordyce traveled from Graettinger and Emmetsburg to Streator Illinois after the death of Mrs Soutry Fordyce, sister-in-law to Mrs Urry. Funeral held Thanksgiving, burial at Long Point near Streator. Mrs Fordyce died at 55, survived by husband. Family gathered in Streator over Sunday and a church basement dinner followed to help friends meet the mourners. Also noted: Alexander Legge died at 67 in Chicago after a career as Federal Farm Board chairman and head of International Harvester. wartime roles included leadership of the War Industries Board and munitions shipments to Allied forces.
