Vernon Climbers Meet and Annual Achievement Day
The Vernon Climbers held a regular meeting at Sandra Tobin's home on August 12 with 15 members present and eight visitors. Activities included 4 H pledges, talks on undergarments and seasonal storage, a nature hike, and lunch by Sandra Tobin. The annual achievement day was held July 30 at Township Hall with reports, demonstrations, and blue awards for lap and centered zippers and shifting shifts.

Palo Alto County Legion Holds Meeting at Ayshire Hall
The Palo Alto County Legion met at Ayshire Legion Hall on Tuesday July 23. County officers were installed by Sth District Commander-elect Lewis Voyles including DeWayne Rouse as Adjutant Henry Climb as Finance Officer Roland Keerles as Sergeant at Arms Robert Skewils as Chaplain and Francis Hughes as Service Officer. The group discussed establishing a County Community College and Technical Trade School with a next meeting set for Ruthven on September 24 1963 to hear school officials’ views.

More than five hundred people attended the Wallingford Coop elevator annual dinner and meeting at Ingham Lake Bible Camp. Directors Elmer Borchers and Robert Ressell were reelected. Arnold Olson was elected to replace Hogan Hoganson. Don Brown of Des Moines presented the fiscal report showing sales of 648 231 and net savings of 11 133 92 for the year ending May 31. Kay and Karen Klinger from Estherville provided pre meeting music and program entertainment.
