Labor Day Celebrations Evolve Over Time
The town marks its 67th Labor Day with shifting attitudes as entertainment shifts and youth age bring changes. Earlier events in 1938 included speeches and dances, while this year features stage shows, horse and grain exhibits, teen dance, hill climb, cinema, and kiddies carnival days amid milder public disorder.
Iowa Gubernatorial Candidates Set for Labor Day Speech
