Graettinger Twilights defeated Jackson Minnesota 10 to 0 at Jackman Park Sunday as John Conway pitched superbly and received airtight support. Gractinger also beat Spencer 5 to 3 at Lakeside Electric Park with Paulsen on the mound, Babe Towne umpiring, in a stout defensive clash. Next Sunday Gractinger plays Mallard.

Forest City Defeats Estherville 14 to 7

Forest City defeated Estherville 14 to 7 with Guilford Paulsen starting for Estherville and being removed in the seventh after an 8 to 3 score. Three Forest City runs were unearned, including the first after an error, and a late overthrow by Paulsen to first allowed another. Smith relieved Paulsen but Forest City batted eleven hits in two and a third innings.

Ayrshire men staged a hold up as Joe O'Brien and Carl Berger avoided a car stopping on a rural road near Gradinger. A passenger jumped onto the running board and demanded surrender, then fired as the car sped away. A related incident east of Graettinger involved six youths from Ayrshire.

Loyal Dog Buddie Visits Boy’s Grave to Die at Sunset Rest

A family in Northwood adopted a shaggy haired dog named Buddie who stayed by baby Lyle until the child’s death. In grief the dog wandered to the cemetery to comfort the boy’s grave, was returned home, and later vanished again. He now makes daily pilgrimages to Sunset Rest, joining grieving parents who understand the loyal animal’s sorrow.
