Boy's fall from home flying machine leaves skull fractured

John Montgomery a 15 year old from Bloomfield cracked his skull and suffered injuries after testing a home made flying contraption. He attached a bicycle propeller to a rear frame with a hot air balloon above and jumped from a high roof hoping to fly, but the device proved too heavy and he fell hitting his head.

Grain Shocker Is Declared A Complete Success

Whittemore July 28 T A Swanson and Kenny Bros report their new grain shocker completed and tested at Pearce farm. The machine allegedly makes eight bundle shocks, sets them upright, weighs about 500 pounds, and requires only one extra horse to pull the binder.

Near Miss in Sand Pit Endangers Two Men

In a sand pit mishap Georges Christopher and Stoltz nearly were buried as a large section of sand caved in. Christopher leaped from the ground into a wagon box to escape, while Stoltz sank three to four feet beneath the surface. Both escaped with minor scratches and aimed to finish the day home.
