Returned From The West Adventure For Mr and Mrs Grodlund
Mr and Mrs M Grodland and children returned from a western trip Friday evening reporting an enjoyable visit. They toured Portland Seattle Victoria and other western cities including the Columbia River Drive a fifty mile route with scenic stops. They spent the Fourth of July on Mt Rainier wading in snow and picking flowers. Victoria impressed him as one of the cleanest cities he visited though trains run scarce and streets wash into the bay each morning at two o clock. On the way home they stopped in Dakota noting good crops but drought affecting cattle and fruit wear. He says the trip was worth it and urges others to visit the Pacific coast states for a real summer pleasure.
