Mrs Jens Petersen Dies After Long Illness
Mrs Jens Petersen of Lost Island township died Thursday after a long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at her home and at the Danish Lutheran church in South Walnut with Rev. N P Simonsen officiating. Interment was in the parochial cemetery. Surviving son P A Petersen and twin brother Ove Rasmussen. The Times offers sympathy to the family and community.

Storm Severe at Ceylon Minnesota

Three Dane farmers killed in auto train crash near Fairmont
A railway train struck the automobile carrying five Dane farmers near Fairmont. Three were killed and one badly injured. a fifth occupant escaped uninjured. The car’s engine is believed to have stalled as it crossed the railroad track.

Tragic Motel Fire Murder Suicide in Shellsburg Home

Children Burned To Death In Rural House Fire
Two small children of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Scott, ages 1 and 3, were burned to death when their farm house three miles south of Woden was destroyed Saturday. Mrs. Scott, burned and away from the home, rescued one child and returned for the other but was driven back by flames. The infant died shortly after rescue and the second child’s remains were not found in the charred wreckage by Sunday afternoon.

A distressing Webster City accident last week killed Mrs. Wilbur Jones a 21 year old bride eight months along.
