Miss Nellie Christianson died Saturday after a serious condition noted last week. She made her home with her brother Charley Christianson in Lost Island Township. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon. Sympathy is extended to the sorrowing relatives.
Extra headlines tell of two townships in Jack Creek and Denmark where fifteen women died that Friday evening at the Schroder home. Miss Workman of Ames led demonstrations on Home Dyeing, Color and Design, teaching fast uniform color, tying and dyeing methods, and how to work with available materials. Mrs Harvey Nichtern, district lead, reported fourteen at a follow up on Color and Design at the Joe Hassel home. Publicity Chairman commends the successful lessons and ease of achieving correct home color.
Extherville will host a motion picture titled Norway New and Old on Wednesday evening May 1. The film explores Norway including fisheries, farming, navy, winter and summer sports, skating, horse racing on ice, soccer, swimming, yachting, and features famous Norwegians like Amundsen, Ole Bull, Ibsen, Bjornson, and Bojor. It has drawn large crowds, and Craettingar’s Scandinavian community is urged to attend.

Students of Wallingford medicals prepare a May festival to be staged Friday. The program includes several entertainment features and funds raised will be used for physical training expenses. Superintendent Searles and Miss Pearl Anderson oversee the festival.
Julius Osher son of Dr and Mrs B T Osher of Estherville was installed as Grand Master of the Delta Sigma Delta chapter at the University of Town last Sunday. He is a junior in dentistry and holds the highest position in the dental fraternity. Source: Estherville News
A small fire was discovered Wednesday morning at the Mohr meat market in Terril. Electrical wiring caused the blaze, damaging the motor and stopping the refrigerator plant for several days.

Mrs Edna Cummings Kruse 36 died of heart failure April 13 born June 7 1893. She graduated West Waterloo High 1910 married Whiner BE Kruse and lived on a farm near Graver. Her husband died 1916 she later studied at Iowa State University receiving BA by 1922 and worked as principal of Armstrong school then taught in Chicago. She served as superintendent of Nast Emmet consolidated school a few months before her death. Also Mrs Sidney C Hays 56 a heart failure victim was a Padmehar teacher and Ames College graduate married to S C Hays June 25 1902 and survived by husband a brother and two sisters.

Clarence Barlow born November 5 1905 in Wallingford was killed when struck by a car driven by Carlos C Morrow near Estherville. The 23 year old man died at the hospital after the collision. He is survived by his parents three brothers and four sisters.
This week’s Enterprise notes new business buildings planned at Estherville and a surge in firms, suggesting a strong comeback and potential for community structures. Keith Moraine visited from Chicago, staying with relatives as his mother undergoes surgery in Town City. Jon Nelson, a widowed farmer near Goldfield, is sued for 25 000 by Clemons of Clarion for allegedly alienating his wife’s affections following a divorce case.
Ralph DeWall of the Terris neighborhood is quite ill at present. His many old friends hope for an early improvement. He is advanced in years. Mrs. DeWall died a few months ago. Mrs. Wm. Fisher of Trilependence township died Saturday April 18 after a brief illness. She was 42 and survived by her husband and three children.
R L Hoxie of the Fisher Hotel and Cafe advertises another high quality chicken dinner to be served Sunday. The issue also features a display ad about media presence.
Gruettinger designates April 22 as cleanup week for all residents to remove winter ashes and rubbish. Any deposits left after April 27 will be cleaned by the Street Commissioner and assessed to the property. Mayor Fred Spies urges citizens to keep the town clean and orderly.

R. H. Bradbury and Mrs. Clara Belle Johansen wed in Jackson Minnesota a week ago Saturday. They traveled to Kansas City for their wedding trip. The bride had recently obtained a divorce in a district court at Hatherville.
