Luther celebrating its Centennial Year is a four year Christian liberal arts college with about 1200 students.
The 1961 feed grain program requires whole fields for diverted acreage, intensive cultivation in the last three years, flexible placement on the farm, and an aim of 21 to 22 percent diverted. Payments cover seed for diverted acres 20 to 40 percent, with guidance on oats grazing rules, summer fallow limits, and ongoing rule changes with county office help.

The Gracttinger Pirates opened the season with a 5-4 victory over Ayrshire at Evergreen Park on Thursday afternoon. Larry Cornelius pitched for Gracttinger in a closely contested base ball opener.
