Baumgartner Pioneer Citizen Dies at 61 in Gracttinger
E A Baumgartner 61 longtime harness shop owner and Gracttinger pioneer died at his home after two months illness. Born May 27 1873 in Jefferson Wisconsin he lived in Sumner and Gracttinger most of his life serving as mayor and council member. He married Bisacho Baugh in 1900 and left a widow two children two sisters and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home and Hawkeye church with large attendance reflecting his esteem.

Norman Osher Joins U S Air Cadet Corps
Norman Osher traveled to Minneapolis to take the U S government Air Cadet Corps pilot examination. He passed the test and is eligible for training. A J Duhn plans a Graettinger tire rebuild shop using a Nielsen vulcanizer for truck and auto tires. He will install equipment this week with factory support next week. Carl Larsen, from Graettinger, assists in tire work. The shop also houses radio repair, in Wildey store building across from the Times office. The rebuilt tire carries a 20000 mile guarantee and costs half as much as new tires. Spot vulcanizing and minor repairs are cheaper.

First National Bank Building To Be Sold
D. G. Barringer of Graettinger has bought the First National Bank building there for 4000 dollars. The sale requires district court approval with a hearing set for April 26 and bids open at the April 25 hearing if any bidder desires the building. Much equipment will accompany the building, which was erected in 1916 at a cost near 12000 dollars and is described as a modern banking structure.
