Larsens Die in Graettinger After Late Sunday Service
The people of Graettinger mourn the death of Mr. Larsen who died Sunday after consultation with Mayo Clinic specialists in Rochester. He was born February 13, 1853 in Sulsstadt Denmark and immigrated to America. Survived by eight children and four brothers and three sisters. Interment at the Danish Lutheran Cemetery in South Walnut. Also noted Henry Simonsen receiving a $200 railway ticket for Chautauqua work with Ellison-White Company, starting travel soon and graduating from Graettinger High School this year.

Kathman Funeral Held for Mrs Henry Kathman
Funeral services were held Saturday for Mrs Kathman who died April 8 after weeks of illness. Catholic church rites were conducted by Rev Father Kelly with a large attendance. Interment followed in the Catholic cemetery. Kathrine Zobel, born December 26 1860 in Bohemia, came to the United States at age 20 and later married Henry Kathman, living in Carroll before moving to the site locality eighteen years ago. She leaves six children: Mrs Henry Knobbe of Spearville Kansas John Frank Joe William and Rose. The obituary praises her as a devoted mother and neighbor, noting her faith and family sacrifices and offering sympathy to her bereaved husband and children.

Kate O’Hare Began Five Year Prison Term in Missouri
Kate O’Hare, once a lecturer at Gracttinger, began a five year sentence at Jefferson City after an earlier conviction by Judge Wade. She was released on bail in an attempt to overturn the sentence but failed. The record notes she deserved a fifty year term for insulting mothers who lost sons in France, and that the electric chair would have been fitting.

Stolen Auto Recovered Near Ringsted After Bold Attempt
Two about eighteen year old youths from Spirit Lake tried to offload a stolen Ford for fifty dollars in Ringsted on Monday afternoon. The car, stolen in Estherville Sunday evening, got stuck in mud on the county road. Sheriff and local authorities traced ownership to Estherville, arrested the pair in Armstrong, and recovered the vehicle. Fred Jonson of Estherville reclaimed the car Tuesday night. The suspects, Matt and Jeffro, were jailed. one carried a small Gatling gun and wore dark suits and felt hats. The Ringsted incident underscores a bold but failed sale and flight.
