Funeral of Joe McCarty Held Saturday in Graettinger
The funeral for Joe McCarty was held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Catholic church, Rev. Father Kelly officiating. A large crowd attended as pallbearers from the Graettinger High School classes of 1925 and 1932 carried the casket to the cemetery northwest of Graettinger. McCarty, born May 41 1906, died April 8 1929 after a long illness including sinus trouble and erysipelas, survived by four brothers and loving parents, with community friends paying tribute to his upright, diligent life.

In Lamporte City, Harry Craft, who shot his wife last summer, has been sent to the Independence insane hospital after the indictment against him was dismissed.
