Rev Father Kelly Marked 40th Priestly Anniversary Banquet

A banquet at the Hawkeye theatre honors Rev Father Kelly of Immaculate Conception parish Graettinger for forty years since priesthood and a West vacation homecoming. Parishioners presented a certificate of deposit totaling over 2000 dollars. praise for the host church women and a program of songs and speeches followed.

Community evening honors Graettinger parish guests

A Dublin college event featured speeches by Father McNerney from Exometaburg and Father Convrey, with praise for Graettinger parish and Father Tynch. P. H. Donton of Ruthven recalled Wather Kelly, and Miss Spies plus Evelyn Hoi and Mary McManus were applauded. Donald Bartleman impressed with violin, closing musical selections by Mary McMunuc and a sung America. Out of town priests Qourrey, Coleman, Cavern, Kalting, Guerin, West, and McNerney attended.

Rev and Mrs Axel M Anderson lose their twin babies as friends express sympathy in Graettinger. Funeral held at South Walnut cemetery with interment. Mrs Anderson recovering. Also: two year old Mary Kathryn Donovan of Estherville suffers leg fractures after being struck by a backing auto driven by Andy Buck while on the sidewalk. Donovan is cousin of Mrs J J Sullivan of Graettinger.

Mule Sale Highlights Lair’s Prize Span at Clay County Fair

R R Lair of Terris sold two span of mules to W D Lowell of Sue City for 700 dollars. One span weighed 3000 pounds and was a red well matched pair that won first prize at Clay county fair for three years running. Lair is noted as a successful mule raiser handling many head yearly.

Wallingford had a good sale as the market day event at Wallingford Saturday drew a sizable attendance despite disagreeable weather. Prices were satisfactory and the Ladies' Aid society cleared a nice sum at their dinner.

Condemned Pilots Escape as Winged Legion Attacks

Prica spots the girl Christina in a field and they plan to leave. A squad of soldiers bursts from the woods and captures him, but in the ensuing chaos the Winged Legion bombards the scene, killing several soldiers and allowing Prica and Christina to flee. Holabird and Vasquez die. Price and Christina depart for Paris.

Joe McCarty Dies at Rochester Hospital

Joe McCarty of Graettinger died at Rochester hospital yesterday afternoon after a long illness. His parents, Mr and Mrs Eugene McCarty, have been at Rochester two weeks and will likely bring the body to Graettinger for a Saturday forenoon Catholic funeral at the local church. He was about 22 and had recently undergone sinus trouble and treatment in Estherville and Rochester. An obituary will appear in next week Times.

Vancouver A Beautiful City Says Father Kelly

Rev. Father Kelly returned from Vancouver British Columbia after a two month rest visiting his sister and acquaintances along the route. He stopped in Seattle Portland Salem and San Francisco meeting friends and noting the city’s size and prosperity. He toured with Mr Disernia and Mrs Bigley and planned trips to Graettinger and Los Angeles but timing prevented further visits.
