Albert Luke Makes Splendid Farm Improvements
The Times reports Albert Luke northeast of Graettinger showing major upgrades after purchasing a half section farm two years ago. Wisconsin Lumber furnished $300 in improvements including barn work, an enclosed porch, fencing, and barn loft with 100 tons capacity. Luke added tile drainage, re-lined grain bins, rebuilt fences, poultry house, cement foundations, and a new cattle stanchion. He holds 1926 and 1927 corn, oats, and barley in storage and has a thriving stock and brown Leghorn flock. He plans 100 fruit trees, an evergreen grove, and ongoing timber removal, while his wife and daughters redecoration efforts completed.

L N Larsen died Friday at Emmetsburg hospital after a brief illness. He lived south of Graettinger for years before moving to the Ringsted area and was well regarded. Wm Hayden, brother of Mrs Frank Buggs and Mrs John Wikert, died at Ruthven after extended illness, with prior treatment in Emmetsburg and Manson City hospitals.

The Graettinger High School community mourns Coach Beryl Wall who died after an illness diagnosed as appendicitis. He underwent surgery in Alta, where his funeral is set for Easter Sunday at 2 p.m. Six basketball players will carry his casket to the grave.
