Funeral of Mr Kent Held Sunday
George L. Kent died at his home March 28 1919 after months of illness and a paralysis stroke following surgery. He lived in Story county Estherville Livermore and Emmetsburg areas before moving to Louisiana and returning. He leaves wife Mary Gorman sons John and William a brother and two sisters. The Catholic funeral was led by Rev Father Kelly and interment was in the Catholic cemetery north of town. Pallbearers were George Truesdell Roy Hood M Weinholzer Jr W L O Connor and Vincent Kelly.

Edward Donovan ten years old, son of Mr and Mrs Howard Donovan of Estherville, died at St Anthony's hospital Carroll after a surgical operation. Remains were moved to Kimmetsburg for interment. He had scarlet fever twice before, and his death grieves his parents and two sisters. his father works as an engineer on the Rock Island’s local division.

In a Tuesday game the Juniors defeated the Seniors 22 to 9 after a 14 to 2 first half and 8 to 7 second half. Freshmen girls lost to Sophomores 21 to 18. Graettinger High School scored 248 points to 184 by opponents this season as four varsity players graduate.

High School Basket Social Clears $84
A fine program and basket social were held at the High School assembly Friday evening. Interesting Case in Justice Court Wins Suit
Last Friday in Justice P. J. McCarty's court Lee Breffle sued William Herke for fifteen dollars for labor performed. Herke admitted debt but argued a prior agreement to furnish a pony shifted loss if the pony was injured by a barbed wire fence. He claimed Breffle owed fifty dollars for pony damage. Jury of Craven, Foster, Reeves, Show, Bigley and Spear sided with Breffle, awarding fifteen dollars.
