Times shifts to offset printing amid equipment delays

After twenty years as a letterpress printer the Times announces a move to offset printing as gear arrives. Until full conversion a portion of the work will run offset on a part time basis while readers are asked to bear with the transition. The note includes remarks on aging, a subscriber letter from Herman Worland of California, and local interest in boxcar shortages, grain storage, and spring forecasts.

Soldier Frank Mammen Returns On Leave From Italy

Frank Mammen formerly of the 34th Division in Italy is now in training at Fort Knox Kentucky. He was home from Leavenworth over Easter on a three day pass plus a weekend. He participated in the African campaign the battles in Italy and the march through Italy.
