Two weeks ago the Times published the officers of the Service Star Legion but two errors occurred. Mrs Louis Thoresen was listed as treasurer and Miss Anna Bergum as first vice president. the correct names are Mrs Louis Paulsen and Mrs BE A Bergum.

Cameron Wins City Election In Gractinger

The Gracttinger city election Tuesday produced 199 votes with incumbent D W Cameron defeating J P Jensen 106 to 91. Eugene Moster was elected city treasurer, Joe Gabrielson assessor, and council members were Thos Allen John Wikert Frank Madigan I F Noble and M Weinholzer Jr. A heated race centered on fire protection and a sewage system.

Old Gentleman Wandered Away in Midwest Wanderer

An elderly man named Harry Rowe, recently moved to Clylon Minnesota from this modality, traveled by train to Lafayette Illinois. His family reports he wandered from home two to three months ago and was last known in Bridgeport Alabama. He mailed dues as a Woodman lodge member before disappearing again.

Methodist Church Special Services Keep Attendees Busy

The Methodist church has held well attended services for two weeks despite bad roads. Four members were baptized this Sunday, and Rev Pritchard’s daughter’s accident required his presence at home. Aid from Rev Howdeshell and Dist Supt Clegg supports ongoing interest as more members are to be received. Services run nightly at eight, closing next Sunday with Join the Church Sunday.

Women’s Farm Bureau Meeting Seeks Home Demonstration Agent

The Palo Alto County Farm Bureau and Miss Neal Knowles led a session of the women’s division to test interest in funding a County Home Demonstration Agent. State funds cover $50 monthly, but more is needed. a $2.50 annual membership may support the work. Several members were asked to gauge support among local ladies and groups. A well known local lawyer and son of Mrs Margaret Nefstead he served overseas with American forces before returning to practice in Graettinger Palo Alto county. Also reported Emmetsburg Catholics plan major church additions including a convent costing about 40000 and a new grade and high school building likely 75000 or more beyond a pastor residence funded earlier.

Wallingford enjoyed an exceptionally successful Market Day sale on Saturday with large crowds in the streets. Livestock and personal property sold to high bids. L. E. Crim moved two cars of new machinery. Auctions were by Grodland & Reeves and J A Nelson of Farmers Savings bank handled cash and notes.

Blaze Threatens Trunnel Home As Weeds Burn

Frank Trunnel burned weeds in his garden on Friday afternoon and the wind shifted, driving flames toward his residence. Firefighters arrived quickly but were not needed as the flames were contained and did not threaten the home.
