Well Known Lady Seriously Injured in Buggy Accident
Mrs. David Klopfenstein, returning from the old homestead northwest of Grabill, was thrown from a buggy when the horse shied near the Benj Neuenschwander farm. She suffered cuts and back injuries, was moved to a nearby residence, treated by Dr. N J Shook, and was reported later as improving.

Auto Thief Visits Rufus Hawk Farm
Last Tuesday evening an attempted theft targeted the Ford runabout owned by Rufus Hawk at his farm near Grabill. His sisters and cousins awakened the family, the youth armed himself with a gun, and the thief vanished as they investigated the auto shed footprint.

Allen County Rural Routes Change in Allen County
Changes to all rural mail routes in Allen County take effect August 16 1917 under Post Office Department orders. Route restructurings shift segments from Grabill Fort Wayne New Haven Huntertown Auburn Antwerp Woodburn and other areas to routes one two and three to place mail delivery at rural homes. A little over one and a half miles moved from route three to route two.

Grabill Boy Has Narrow Escape
Last Tuesday afternoon while helping make hay on the L. H. Hureh farm four miles northeast of Grabill, John Markle, eldest son of G. F. Markle, was struck on the head by a three tine pitchfork that fell from the barn loft. The center tine broke and the outer tine pierced near the skull while the other grazed his hat. a fellow laborer helped remove it. The boy seems no worse for the experience.
