Tamarack completes flowing Austin Chalk well in Gonzales County
Tamarack Petroleum Company, based in Midland, reports a flowing well on the Logan Lease three miles southwest of Cost in Gonzales County testing 225 barrels per day. The Austin Chalk well completed on November 11. Thor Energy Inc. of Houston has a permit to drill a wildcat on the David R. U S Spy Plane Crash Kills Six At Cyprus Base

Restoration Committee Receives $300 Grant
The Gonzales County Restoration Association, a committee of the Gonzales County Historical Commission, received a $300 grant from the America the Beautiful Fund Washington DC. Bruce Dowling as executive director said the project is one of 100 national efforts to receive seed money in 1977 and urged community and government support for art and heritage funding. The goal is a pioneer village of historically significant Gonzales County buildings set for preservation. De-Go-La led by Carl Wood surveys and plans ground levels drainage and plant life preservation. A Texas A&M University architecture class supervised by Professors David Woodcock and Bob Meeker is creating drawings and a working model showing building locations walkways and landscaping.
