Light the Way for a Safe Holiday program urged Texans
Colonel Wilson E. Speir of the Texas Department of Public Safety announced a special effort to cut Christmas and New Year traffic accidents. The plan, Light the Way for a Safe Holiday, urges daytime as well as nighttime use of low beam headlights and asks DPS troopers to burn headlights on patrol cars during two holiday weekends from 6 p.m. Fri Dec 23 to midnight Mon Dec 26 and from 6 p.m. Fri Dec 30 to midnight Mon Jan 9.

Pecan Show Set to Kick Off Thursday in Gonzales
